Nothing to see here

Just some small tidbits about our site. While in the process of redesigning Liz's website I tinkered with some drop down menus. The results are these nifty archive forms for both Kristine and myself. Granted other sites have been there, done that, but I still think they're neat-o.

We've also been fighting the good fight against comment spam. At first we were cleaning out the backlog manualy but that soon got out of hand. Now we're using a combination of MT Blacklist and MT CloseComments to nip that unwanted processed meat product in the bud. You should check them out, they've done wonders for our little site.

Yes yes, a boring post, but some people actualy get off on learning all this back-end stuff. I'm not sure who but they do.

The Link

It is not TripleDoubleYou or tripledoubleyou. Triple Double You or any "space friendly" iteration of it is out of the question.

Tripledoubleyou doesn't work, and neither does tripledoubleU. 3x2xU is cute, but I doubt anyone would understand it anyway.

The .com is important.

tripledoubleyou.com is golden. TripleDoubleYou.com works as well. www.com is also acceptable since that is what we were going for.

But 3x2xU.com is still a big no-no.

Aside: this is just me being anal about how to link this site. It was supposed to be humorous but I think it came out a bit too hostile then I meant it to be. Please disregard it since I should be thanking you for linking me in the first place.

Black Cherry Redux

Yes I've been tweaking the Black Cherry layout. Press relaod a couple of times or clear your cache to get the full picture.

And just incase you have no idea what I'm talking about, this site has several skins you can apply to the layout. I hope you've managed to find one to your liking but I'd always welcome any requests or suggestions.

The original plans for this site called for the ability to apply independant skins to either side of the webpage. You could have Kris's side in Lime while my side could sport Chocolate. You would be able to mix and match till your heart's content.

... cool? Hell yeah! Possible? Well ... let me get back to you on that.

Don't swallow the pits!

There's a new skin in town and goes by the name of Black Cherry! Click on this link to switch to that skin, although for IE you may have to reload afterwards.

I have to tweak a few more things, and I'm not sure I like how the footers on each post look. Still this one turned out pretty nice if I do say so myself. What do you think?

New skin! Alright so it isn't new new, but it is new to the whole "skins" thing. I took the first layout of tripledoubleyou.com and re-mixed it for this code. Take a look at it here. Mmmm, chocolate goodness!

Synchronization and the Individual Tastes of Your Readers.

A little thing like a spring cold won't prevent this coder from working some CSS/HTML/PHP magic. You may not have noticed but I managed to synch up all the layouts across the web page. No matter which skin you choose it will follow you from the monthly archives to the links page.

Just don't visit our archive listing pages ... they're not ready yet.

And if you haven't checked out the nifty skins feature yet please do so. The selection is limited right now but there are several new layouts on the way. I've promised Kristine a "Ms. Pacman" and a "Wood" based skin. Chelle has a flavour for Grape while Jason prefers Blueberry instead.

Actually Jason prefers a layout on his web site all together ... um, I should start working on that ...

A month long hiatus for this?!

Okay ...

Bare with me. Not everything is up and running at this moment. Still, I decided to let the curtain down and give everyone a sneak peak at the latest incarnation of this website.

Now I know what you are thinking, but trust me this isn't the same layout from before. There have been a lot of changes in the background and some other changes you just can't see right now.

Well, you can see them if you just click here.

Pretty neat huh? Go crazy in the Skins section of the website. I only have three to choose from right now but expect more to come.

Another test post

A good programmer always tests his code twice. Unless of course you're working on a deadline, in which case you'd end up testing the code only once.

And then there's coding under a deadline in the computer labs at UofT; testing equals being able to compiling the code without errors. That's gold right there.
