Out dammed spot!
Dang.
When I wore these pants this morning I did not see the dried blob of mustard and relish on it. The condiments fell on the bottom half of my right leg, just at the right spot to not be noticed when you check yourself in the mirror. I must be a souviner of the hot dog I had last week when I met up with Liz.
I could go to the washroom and try to scrub it off but with these khaki pants a dark wet spot would be more noticble then a yellow-green blob. Then again if it has been there for that long I'm sure the stain's already set in and there isn't much more I can do for it. Dang.
I guess you know what this means: I can have another hot dog for lunch and not worry about getting messy with the toppings. Whoo-hoo! When life gives you lemons, ask for some tequila and salt.

Happy Hour!
What does this picture tell you?
- That I play the Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game City of Heroes
- That one of my characters in the game is a female Superhero.
- That it is Happy Hour in Paragon City! Woop! Woop! Woop!
I hope there are plenty of other missions like this. Sometimes being able to take a silly screenshot like the one above is enough of a reward.

What is in your purse?
A purse? I carry a purse around? Look, you can call it a book bag, satchel, shoulder bag, whatever; if you can't fit your sweater inside, it is a purse. Yes I'm talking to that guy who wears a fanny packs over the shoulder and thinks he's all that. It is a purse!
Now that we have the details out of the way, let's check out the usual contents of my purse, shall we?
- 1 towel (blue, hand towel sized)
- 1 small roll of duct tape
- 1 hard covered notebook
- 1 notepad
- 2 pens (1 black, 1 blue)
- 1 permanent marker (black)
- 1 metal tin containing
- 5 adhesive bandages (glow in the dark)
- 4 antihistamine tables (non-drowzy)
- 4 aspirin tablets (extra-strength)
- 1 daytime cold/flu tablet (non-drowzy)
- 1 multi-tool gadget with
- LED flashlight
- knife
- saw blade
- philips screwdriver
- flat head screwdriver
- long nosed pliers
- 1 container of lip balm (medicated)
- 1 container of hand sanitizer (with moisturizers & vitamin E)
- 1 tube of Binaca (spearmint)
- 1 eye glass case containing
- my clip on sunglasses
- 1 commuter train ticket (spare)
- 1 commuter train ticket (primary)
- 2 TTC subway tokens
- 1 Air Miles card
- 1 Chapters/Indigo iRewards card
When you list it out like this it seems like a lot of junk but I swear with all that in my bag I still have enough room to carry a water bottle and a sandwich and a few other snacks for lunch. What is in your purse?

On being breathless
There is a lady that takes the commuter train with me every morning. She's middle aged, of West Indian decent, and is usually chatting away with her daughter who is around my age.
She parks in the same parking lot I leave my car. We both walk the same path to the train platform: across the lot, down the stairs, beneath the bridge, back up the stairs, across the bridge and onto the platform. Sometimes we even wait in the same shelter as well.
After that quick walk I sit down and listen. The lady is now short of breath and *gasp* is panting *gasp* between *gasp* syla *gasp* bles *gasp* when she *gasp* talks. She is not physically bent over in exhaustion, but it is clear that a swift walk and a set of stairs have clearly taken a toll on her.
I don't want to be like her.
The good news is that I haven't put on any weight since the beginning of the year. The bad news would be that I haven't lost any weight as well. I'm still hovering around 240 pounds on changes to my diet alone. Excercise has barely found it's way into my daily routine, but that is what I sorely need. Not just to shed some pounds but to get myself in shape so I don't end up like that lady from the train station.
The short walk doesn't leave me short of breath and I swear it never will.

Don't Fear the Reaper
I can no longer take a song seriously if it has a cowbell as part of its percussion set. The sound invokes the image of Will Farrell in a tight plaid shirt giving it all he's got. It has completely ruined any chance there is of me listening to the latest Queens of the Stone Age single without breaking out into laughter.
I've got a fever...and the only prescription...is an old SNL skit!

You will only feel it if she wants you to
You all can keep drooling over Nancy. I'm to busy crushing over Miho.
And what's more Kristine has met her in person. She's had Ms. Aoki over at her house no less!
That's 2 degrees of separation beeyatch! Closer then I'll ever get to hanging out with Ms. Branch ... or should I say Mrs. Landau. *cries*

I don't even know how I got it in the first place
Rabbit, Rabbit! Here's to another month of good luck and good vibrations.
Three days ago I woke up to find a blister right on the tip of my tongue. It is sensitive, tender to the touch, burns when put in contact with something salty or acidic. Like any sort of wound I know it's better to just leave the sore alone and let it heal ... but for Pete's sake I can't stop myself from flaring up the little bugger any chance I get.
I rub it across the top of my mouth, grate it against the back of my teeth. I let the natural salts of my skin burn the blister as I press the tip of my finger into it. My intake of citric acid has doubled this week and I don't even like orange juice.
Today the blister is all worn out. Only a heavy amount of prodding can induce a reaction from it. The wound responds with a dull sensation, a shadow of the pain it used to lash out with. I'm glad to be rid of it, with its annoying flare ups that would seem to come at the most awkward of times.
But there is a part of me that is going to miss annoying the little bugger to death.
