Don't Fear the Reaper
I can no longer take a song seriously if it has a cowbell as part of its percussion set. The sound invokes the image of Will Farrell in a tight plaid shirt giving it all he's got. It has completely ruined any chance there is of me listening to the latest Queens of the Stone Age single without breaking out into laughter.
I've got a fever...and the only prescription...is an old SNL skit!

that is my favorite SNL skit EVER.
And? I too cannot hear a cowbell in a song without thinking of it. This is both good and bad.
